The Arlington girls volleyball team were on the road earlier in the month and earned wins each time.
The Eagles traveled to Monroe Friday, March 5 and were victorious against the Bearcats 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-23). The team had 16 services aces and Emily Mekelburg had 10 kills and 14 digs while Cassie Whitaker had three blocks.
Arlington’s junior varsity and C teams both won 3-0.
On Tuesday, March 9, the Eagles visited Lakewood and won 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-16) Malia Shepherd and Emily Mekelburg had three service aces and seven kills each.
Arlington’s junior varsity team won 3-0 (25-22, 25-7, 25-13).
The Arlington Eagles girls volleyball team lost to Jackson High School 2-3 (25-14, 13-25, 13-25, 25-11 and 8-15) during a Wesco conference game March 11.
Coach Lauren Amundson said in an email that the game was a match of momentum shifts, but ended up falling to Jackson. Taylor Helle had a match high of 26 digs and Malia Shepherd added 10 kills and 12 digs.
Arlington’s junior varsity lost to Jackson 1-2 (23-25, 25-23, 25-27. Chloe Lewis led the team with her solid back row defense and four aces. Jamie Kinney ad Ellie Salstrom both delivered strong performances with six and eight kills, Amundson said.
The Eagles C-Team won 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-19) with outstanding performances by Izzy Gutierrez, Libero Rachel Cope, Mollee O’Brien Bowen and Maddy McCall.
