It is hard to believe that it is Festival Season already, but we are hard at work preparing for our Festival along with appearances at many out-of-town parades.
Maryfest Inc. has a dedicated and hard working Executive Board, Board of Directors, Event Directors and volunteer base, all of whom are working hard to ensure that all the events are well planned and put together for this year’s 87th Marysville Strawberry Festival. Our thanks and gratitude to all of these people for a job well done.
The Marysville Strawberry Festival Float has made two appearances this parade season and brought home two awards. On April 7, the Float crew, headed up by Tom King, and Royalty traveled to Puyallup for the Daffodil Festival, which includes Parades in four different cities, and brought home The Spirit Award. Daffodil Festival is the first Parade of the season and proves to be a very long two days, but provides the opportunity to see your work on display and take stock of possible changes to be made before the next Parade. On May 5, the crew traveled to Wenatchee for the Apple Blossom Festival and brought home the Community Sweepstakes Award which is given to the Float that best represents their community or Festival. Our Senior Royalty, King Nathan, Princess Katelynn and Princess Kaitlyn, escorted by Maryfest Inc. officials, represented Marysville very well. Congratulations to all. Last weekend the Marysville float was at the Spokane Lilac Festival on May 19.
