Marysville Police are searching for Rhyan Tyler Vasquez.

In the early morning hours Sept. 18  a 24-year-old male later identified as Rhyan Tyler Vasquez was dressed all in black, and wearing a bandanna over his face, waited for his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend to leave for work. When the ex-girlfriend exited her home Vasquez assaulted her, forcing her into her own car. The victim reported that Vasquez, a convicted felon, was armed with a handgun and attempted to kidnap her. When she fought back, Vasquez violently assaulted the victim, striking her in the face with the handgun causing serious injuries to the victims face and jaw.  

During the attack a witness heard the screams, saw the suspect flee on foot north bound on 47thAve. and called 911. 

At about5:40 a/,/, the Marysville Police Officers responded to the 7200 block of 47thAve NE after citizens heard the screams for help.  A K-9 search of the area had negative results. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Marysville investigators were called out to the crime scene and collected evidence of the attack.

Vasquez, has ties to Marysville, Everett, Lynnwood, and the Kirkland area.  Vasquez is being sought by the Marysville Police Department for Assault 1stDegree DV, Attempted Kidnapping, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  Vasquez also currently has an active warrant out of Department of Corrections (DOC).  

Vasquez has an extensive criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous. If located do not approach him, call 911.  

Marysville Investigations Sergeant James Maples stated, “This was clearly a brazen targeted attack on the victim.” 

Lead investigator Detective Chris Jones said, “Rhyan Vasquez is well known to us here at Marysville PD. Having grown up in Marysville, Vasquez has had numerous contacts with Marysville officers over the years. Vasquez has previous convictions for Robbery 1, Escape 2, and Attempt to Elude among other numerous misdemeanor convictions.”
