On June 28 Marysville Patrol Officers were called to the residential neighborhood south of 116th St. NE and State Avenue after an altercation between two male roommates led to gunfire. The two males, both in their late 30s, were in a verbal argument over the sale of property. The suspect in this incident introduced what was described as a sword or large knife to the argument, slashing the victim in the upper torso/underarm region. The victim, a legal gun owner, produced his concealed handgun and fired a single shot in self-defense, hitting the suspect in his lower torso area. The victim’s girlfriend called 911 and the victim-shooter remained on scene.
Officers arrived on scene, providing immediate medical treatment to the suspect. Officers initially detained the victim. Multiple witnesses were on scene and provided Detectives with information that lead to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect was transported to the hospital and then subsequently booked into Snohomish County Jail for Assault in the 2nd Degree, Domestic Violence.
