Marysville firefighters will be collecting non-perishable foods, toys, new books, and cash or gift cards at the Marysville Safeway Nov. 27-30.

Marysville Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 3219, are teaming up with Santa again this year to collect donations for local families in need.

Firefighters will be at Safeway (1258 State Ave., Marysville) with Santa from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 27 through Nov. 30. They would love to accept your non-perishable foods, unwrapped toys, new books and cash or gift card donations for the Marysville Community Food Bank and Toy Store.

“We’re asking for the community’s help to make sure more families can celebrate without stress this holiday season,” said Captain/Paramedic Cody Brooke, IAFF Local 3219 President. “Every can of food and every toy has the potential to make a big difference.”

Donations for the food bank and toy store are also being accepted at more than 75 locations throughout the Marysville area, including all City of Marysville government buildings. Families in need of services are asked to sign up directly by visiting the food bank in person (4150 88th St. NE, Marysville) before 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30. No online or phone registration is available.

Volunteers are still needed for the food bank and toy store this season. If you would like to volunteer at the food bank, contact To volunteer at the toy store, send an email to or contact Volunteer Coordinator Christie Veley at 360-363-8507.
