The arts and crafts chain Hobby Lobby opened their new location this August in the Lakewood area.
Hobby Lobby and city officials held the grand opening for the new store on Aug. 1.
The store in the Lakewood Crossing area is at 2323 172nd St. NE, Marysville.
Each Hobby Lobby "store offers more than 75,000 crafting and home decor products," said Bob Miller, communications coordinator for the chain.
That includes a wide variety of supplies for many types of arts and crafts.
Those products include a variety of floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, wearable art, wedding supplies, arts and crafts, jewelry making, scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies.
Seasonal items like fall décor, Christmas items or pumpkin items, among others, will also be available at the store.
There may also be classes at the local Hobby Lobby in the future, and instructors are invited to hold classes at the store if they want to.
"We make our store classrooms available to local individuals to teach a wide variety of art and craft classes including jewelry making, knitting, floral design, paper crafting, cake decorating, and much more," said Miller.
"We know there are a lot of bright, talented people in the Marysville area that might be interested in teaching in our classroom," he said.
Independent instructors at Hobby Lobby take home 100 percent of their class fees and there is no charge for the use of the classroom.
Interested teachers can start by contacting the Lakewood store's manager.
The Oklahoma-based chain began as a miniature picture frame company in 1970 and now has 700 stores across the U.S. It is one of the nation's largest arts and crafts retailers now.
The Marysville store will be the 14th Hobby Lobby location in Washington.
"We have been looking forward to opening this store. We have had a great response since we opened the doors and we are excited to be a part of the Marysville community," said Miller.
He expects that the new store will bring in between 35 to 50 jobs to the community.
The store hours for the Lakewood store are Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday.
