Barron Heating provides area homeowners with a local option for upgrading or servicing the heating and insulation systems in their homes with a new Marysville location.
The business opened their new Marysville showroom about two months ago at 1062 State Ave., Marysville.
There are many heating and insulation parts available at the store, including air pumps, hot water heaters, tankless water heaters, air conditioners, air furnaces, ductless heat pumps, gas stoves and fireplaces. The store can also provide parts to service those items.
Barron Heating also sells hot tubs and spas as well.
Joey Koncoski, a Barron Heating employee at the Marysville location, said they are really into improving home performance.
"What that means is making sure your insulation levels are okay, making sure your duct work is sealed properly, and everything is cleaned," he said.
Items like ductless heat pumps provide better energy efficiency than the systems many homes have.
"If someone is in an electrically heated home, which a lot of people in Marysville are, a lot of people are switching to these, be cause they use half the energy and they also provide air conditioning as well," he said.
Snohomish PUD also offers rebates for switching to ductless heat pumps.
Their energy savings may reduce operating costs as much as 50 percent as well, said Koncoski.
Barron Heating can also help clean and seal the ducts in a home.
"People want clean ducts and sealed ducts because of one, health, they don't want to be bringing in the dust from above or below and breathing that air in, and, second, energy efficiency, if you have leaky ducts you're literally heating the outside instead of the inside," said Koncoski.
They also offer an Aeroseal service, which is a way to seal ducts from the inside-out that is only offered by about 2 percent of contractors.
"Typically we see 30 percent improvement in performance from your furnace after we're done [with an Aeroseal service]," said Koncoski.
The business also provides a variety of fireplaces with customization available, and a full showroom of examples.
Barron Heating is a family-owned business that has been in operation for about 40 years. They are headquartered in Bellingham and the Marysville showroom is their third store.
They service Snohomish County, Whatcom County, Skagit County, Island County and San Juan County.
Many of the local store's employees, like Koncoski, are local to Marysville and have been with the company for more than a decade.
The owner of the company believes in being loyal to employees and the community they're in, said Koncoski. "When we were in the lean times of 2008, 2009 and 2010, we didn't lay anybody off," he said.
