A fun show, bring it to Marysville

Editor,

Last week I attended another installment of the Hometown Hootenanny, a great live music show at the Historic Everett Theatre. This was the third one I'd been to, and it featured a bluegrass theme. The performers, all local musicians, were absolutely incredible-especially a group of four young men called Northern Departure.

But what bugs me is this: Why do I always have to go to Everett or even farther south to see a good show? It's because there's no facility in Marysville for concerts or plays or musicals. A city of this size should have an auditorium of some kind that could be used by community theater groups and local musicians. Don't we deserve some culture in this city?

I know times are tough, and the arts are usually the first things to get cut. But there must be some way to accommodate some local family-friendly entertainment options here at home.
