Editor,

At the Arlington/Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce forum, Jeff Cartwright stated he became interested in running for the position of Hospital Commissioner #3 as a result of patient concerns. His opponent, the incumbent commissioner, refuted his statement. She painted a rosy picture of Cascade Valley Hospital's quality of care and her contribution to that endeavor.

After the forum, I browsed a couple of web sites (healthgrades.com and hhs.gov) and discovered some disturbing facts. I find it hard to imagine that the incumbent is totally unaware of the hospital's ratings. I encourage you to browse these websites yourself and research these statistics. As a potential consumer of Cascade Valley Hospital, I found the results of this research very concerning.

As a commissioner, Jeff Cartwright will work hard to ensure that residents of Hospital District #3 have more services available and improved quality of care. Please vote for Jeff Cartwright for Hospital Commissioner.
