Editor,

I attended the judicial forum for Superior Court candidates in early October in downtown Everett where four candidates were present. I thought the questions and answers were informative. What stuck in my mind the most was the candidates' responses to their criminal record, if any. I could feel the silence in the room with many surprises on people's faces.

I was dumbfounded when I heard that candidate David Hulbert had one DUI, and candidate Joe Wilson had "a few" arrests. When pressed further, Wilson stated that he was very "upfront about it to everyone," even though he didn't even admit he had DUI's.

I looked online and only found out about it from last year's judicial election coverage that Wilson had four DUI's! He certainly was not "upfront" about it at the forum. No wonder he's running again. He's hoping nobody will know. How can candidates have the audacity to run for judge with a criminal record?
