Financial mess hits home
Editor,
I am disappointed in our country’s leaders in deciding to reward a bad system, place our debts and poor decisions upon our children, and inflate our dollar through the creation of money, which steals from those who choose to save instead of spend.
I am fortunate enough to not be in the shoes of those whose retirement and job security rests on this bill, and I sympathize with those who are, but the idea of sacrificing our children to the god of our financial system (debt, consumerism, and illusory prosperity) for a “better crop” this year is something that needs to be seriously considered. I think we are suffering from a lack of knowledge, among ourselves and in our government. As the prophet Hosea said, “my people perish for lack of knowledge.” If we don’t understand what got us here, how will we get us out!
Clear Image is a portrait and photography business, and as times get hard, people tend to look inward and protect (and invest in) what is really important. So far, our clients have not slowed in coming through our door, in trusting us with preserving the memory of what is very important--their families. We plan on doing just that, in good times and bad.

Pain may be resolved in November
Editor,
I think I must have fibromyalgia, that strange disease that makes you hurt all over. Here’s why:
My head hurts from trying to figure out why I should be paying to bail out the fat cats of Wall Street, when they have never gone out of their way to bail me out of financial troubles.
My shoulders ache from carrying the multi-trillion-dollar debt load this administration has saddled us with for an unnecessary war and handouts to corporations.
My heart aches when I hear that we torture illegally-held captives and spy on our own citizens.
Maybe the medication I need will be prescribed in November.
