Post Office parking

Editor,

I just have to write about a pet peeve of mine.

Maybe it’s nobody’s fault, but the congestion around the Marysville Post Office is ridiculous.

The parking lot is so small that people stop on State Avenue waiting for someone to pull out of a space. Traffic backs up on State and drivers start swerving into the other lane, causing a very dangerous situation.

I wonder if it’s well known that there’s additional parking on the north side of the Post Office building? It’s only a few spaces, but rather than sitting on State Avenue and causing a traffic jam, drivers should pull into the lot and check out the north parking. If nothing is available, they can always drive on through and circle the block.

As Marysville continues to grow, I think the Post Office will need to be expanded too. The lines in the lobby are as bad as the ones in the parking lot. And it will only get worse with the holiday season.
