Preparations in high gear for Strawberry Festival

Hello Marysville and welcome to “The Berry Patch.”

As we are inching our way ever so close to “Jam In Marysville,” the 2018 Marysville Strawberry Festival, preparations are in high gear. There is still time for you to get involved as a volunteer should you be interested. If you would like more information on how to become a volunteer, please call the Festival Office at 360-659-7664.

The Strawberry Festival, unlike every other Community Festival, could not go on without the support of sponsors. We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank this year's sponsors: The City of Marysville, Tulalip Resort Casino, Snohomish County, Home Depot, Les Schwab Tires and Funtastic Shows Carnival. The support we get from these sponsors help to guarantee the success of our Festival and we encourage you to thank them by patronizing their businesses and saying “thank you for their support of our community.”

Our award-winning float made a trip over the mountains on May 19 to visit and attend the Spokane Lilac Festival. This Festival is one of the premiere Festivals in Washington and is always an enjoyable trip, albeit a long drive and an even longer day, as the Parade begins at 8 p.m. Our float came home with a 2nd Place Award for communities with a population of 12,000-70,000. Congratulations to our Royalty and Float Crew for a job well done, you are all representing our community very well. The Float's most recent appearance was at the Hyack Festival in New Westminister, B.C., on May 26.

The “Market In The Park," will be held in Asbery Field beginning Friday, June 15, and running through Sunday, June 17. There will be food, fun and entertainment for both adults and children. There will be a “Kids Area” with their own food vendors. An Entertainment Stage will provide music from all eras beginning on Friday with Patty Differences from 4-6 p.m. New food vendors will be providing different food items such as BBQ Turkey Legs, Chinese Food, Hot Spun Cotton Candy and Soft Ice Cream, not to eliminate your favorite Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Curly Fries. The Kiwanis Beer & Wine Garden opens Friday and runs through Sunday at Asbery Field.

Stay tuned for more event information other Festival news as we work our way towards the 87th Annual Marysville Strawberry Festival.
