Wenberg County Park boat launch schedule changes

The Snohomish County Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism announced on April 3 that during this summer’s much needed construction at Wenberg County Park the boat launch will be open and construction paused on two important occasions: Memorial Day and Independence Day weekends.

The summer construction schedule necessitates a temporary closure of the public boat launch at Wenberg County Park on Lake Goodwin.  The closure is planned for May 1, 2018 through September 30, 2018.  However, Parks staff heard from park users about their desire for openings during the construction process.  Therefore, Parks has worked with its contractor, Strider Construction, Inc., to arrange the construction schedule to accommodate two long weekend when the boat launch will be open to the general public.

•The first weekend opening for the boat launch will be the Memorial Day holiday, from Friday, May 25 through Monday, May 28,2018.

•The second opening will be during the Independence Day holiday, from Wednesday, July 4, through Sunday, July 8, 2018.

During these openings, the park will open at 7 a.m. and close at dusk.  All boats using the boat launch must be off the lake 20 minutes before sunset.

With this new schedule, Parks will be able to complete construction on schedule, with significant upgrades to the park and boat launch, while providing an opportunity for boaters to use the lake during key holidays.

For more information about the project please call Senior Park Planner, Kevin Teague at 425-388-6609.
