Santa's elves still collecting for Marysville food bank, toy store

Santa’s elves are counting down to the opening of their toy shop later this month and they are still collecting gifts for local families in need. Community members can donate new toys, stocking stuffers, gift cards, books and coats through Dec. 8 to benefit the Marysville Community Food Bank and Toy Store.

Those donations can be dropped at more than 75 locations across Marysville as well as any City of Marysville government building including the park office, community center, city hall, police station and all fire stations. Jimmy John’s of Marysville is also offering customers a Free Sub Sandwich certificate for bringing in a new unwrapped toy ($9.99 or value or greater) or new kids coat.

The Marysville Community Food Bank and Toy Store is striving to meet its goal this year to provide toys and a coat to every local child in need. Formed in 1985 by several regional service organizations and their dedicated volunteers, the committee now serves more than 1,200 children in the 98270, 98271 and 98259 zip codes.
