Karen Sailor Estenson

Karen Sailor Estenson, a.k.a. "The Dunkler," was born Oct. 16, 1942. Daughter of Robert and Vivian Sailor of Seattle, Karen passed away on Oct. 1, 2017. After she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960, Karen married her high school sweetheart, Earl Estenson, in 1964. Karen and Earl moved to Priest Point in Tulalip in the 1970s. Karen founded the Yarn Boutique of Marysville, Kirkland and Bellevue, and she enjoyed traveling abroad and building their home in Mexico. Karen was looked to for inspiration and leadership by her piers, family and friends. Karen is survived by her husband, Earl Estenson; daughter, Carole Estenson; son, Blair Estenson; daughter-in-law, Stacey Estenson; sister, Elaine Powell and granddaughters Kahley Estenson-Montez, Mallorie Estenson, Megan Estenson, Kianna Estenson, and Clara Estenson. Karen passed at her home in Lake Goodwin with family by her side.

Karen remains in the hearts of her family and friends as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Suggested memorials should be made to Children's Orthopedic Hospital of Seattle. Memorial services to be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Maple Leaf Lutheran Church, 10005 32nd Ave. NE, Seattle.
