The Band of Uncles honored the music of Neil Young at the first concert in the series of four this summer. The concerts are coordinated by Sarah Lopez and funded by a city of Arlington tourism grant.

The city's Music on the Terraces concert series ended Thursday with The Ryders doing bluegrass, country and folk music. Terrace Park was built in the 1930s by a women's club and it hosted Easter sunrise services in the early days. Since the city's Centennial in 2003, live performances have been revived there, along with movies in July and Shakespeare in the Park.

It's a nice place to hear music on a warm and sunny day, albeit a bit hazardous, with the dry slippery grass that kids love to slide on with cardboard.

There has been discussion about improving the terraces through the years but it hasn't been designed of funded.
