As July ends the high school sports season begins as many fall sports programs are gearing up for competition. The Arlington High School volleyball team is no different as they held the Gold Medal Squared Volleyball Camp from July 24-27.

"We see so much growth throughout the four days, and it lets all of the players develop their team chemistry by battling out on the court. This time is crucial because the summer sets the tone for what we do in the fall. Time is so limited in the fall when school starts so this is our time to get in the gym and get better," said Arlington Head Coach Whitney Williams.

Gold Medal Squared camps operate all over the country and partner with hundreds of high schools to teach proven methods and principles. The Arlington program is taught alongside these coaches in order to work with the Eagle's young athletes, freshmen through seniors.

At the end of the 2016-17 season the Arlington Eagles lost seven seniors due to graduation, and in turn lost almost their entire starting lineup. This year will be a rebuilding year with a very young roster, but Coach Williams is looking to be competitive with hard work in the offseason. By getting her young athletes up to speed and ready to play, the Eagles look to make some noise in the fall.

"We like to focus on mechanics and fundamentals throughout the camp so that we can get a good, strong start on our season. It gives us a good starting point when everyone relearns every skill all over again from the ground up," said Williams.

If you're interested in supporting and watching the Arlington Eagles, they will be playing their first games in the first week of September. You can stay up to date on their schedule at
