Hawt Mama's prepare for Stilly Puff Cup

As we approach the end of June, it is that time of year again when the Arlington Eagle Hawt Mama’s go against the Stanwood Spartans Moms in the seventh annual Stilly Puff Cup.

“The ladies commit to the team and they make you believe in what they’re doing. So I go up there, enjoy their company and love working with them on the game of football. How hard they work and how much they put into this makes me want to come back every year and help them,” said Arlington Powder Puff Head Coach Les Sipes.

For the last seven years the Arlington Hawt Mama’s have hosted the Stilly Puff Cup in order to do their part in raising money for the kids of the AYFA, Arlington Youth Football Association. Last year they won the cup and they are hoping to do it again on their home field. The game will be hosted on the Arlington High School football field on Friday, June 30. The gates will be opening up at 5:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 6 p.m.

“I haven’t gotten to see everything come to an end yet, but I am so excited to see the kids that we are able to help with the money we raise. Right now I am really enjoying the bonding and having fun coming together with the other moms for the kids,” said Arlington first-year player, Brittany Gudde.

The suggested donation for game is $5 for a single ticket and $10 for a family. All the money raised will be going to scholarships for the young football players who need it to play the game they love. Concessions will also be available at the game to contribute to the fundraising total.

“I have three sons and I can now understand a lot of what they do when they play football. I can see into their sport and share something special with them. It’s just such a blessing to be able to help kids play the sport they love and get them outside and active,” said Arlington Powder Puff veteran, Niki Roskelley.
