The first tryouts/practices have begun for the Arlington Aces recreational baseball league, as the players are gathering and establishing the teams that will be competing this season. All athletes age 21 or older are welcome to join and compete.

"We all grew up around here playing baseball and it's just a common interest we all share. We all have a different backgrounds, different jobs and completely different lives. But, it's nice to be able to dedicate one night a week to coming out here and acting like we're 10 years old again," said Arlington Aces director and player, Chase Milless.

The first tryouts started on June 14 but there will be two more opportunities to get out there before the season begins. On June 21 and June 28 the Arlington Aces will hold tryouts at Evans Field, Arlington, starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending around 8:30 p.m. The entry fee for the league is $75 to cover cost of the venue, uniforms and other league expenses.

After the teams are finalized, league games will be played at 6 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday night, from July 6 to Aug. 31. All games will be played at Evans Field and welcome anyone to come, watch and cheer on their favorite player or team.

"It's just nice when you wake up on Monday for work, but you can already look forward to playing baseball later in the week," said Milless.

If you're interested in joining the league you can show up at one of the tryouts or contact Carsten Mullin at or call 360-403-3448.
