At approximately 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, an Arlington police officer on routine patrol initiated a stop for a minor traffic violation in the 20400 block of 97th Avenue NE. The vehicle's driver initially stopped the vehicle for the officer and then took off at a rapid rate of speed.

Officers initiated a short pursuit, which was then called off when the male driver and female passenger bailed out of the vehicle. After having numerous chances to surrender and choosing not to, the suspect was bitten by K-9 Ronin and subsequently taken into custody. He was treated at Cascade Valley Hospital for minor injuries.

The search for the female suspect continued until approximately 3:35 p.m. when an Arlington police officer located her walking in the 9700 block of Tveit Loop Road.

The male driver is a 26-year-old Arlington area resident. The female passenger is a 24-year-old Arlington area resident. Both suspects will be booked into Snohomish County Jail on several felonies including possession of a stolen motor vehicle and obstructing a law enforcement officer.
