Along with the Talent Show, all the other events of the Marysville Strawberry Festival are also gearing up currently and will run from June 10 to June 18.

"We're looking forward to it," said Maryfest president Darren Doty, "and we're hoping the weather will be more cooperative than it was last year."

The event is a tradition for many local families and the community itself, and will celebrate the 86th festival this year.

"It's something that families can do together, come watch the parade and the fireworks, head down to the market and enjoy the Talent Show that gives people a chance to show their talent," said Doty.

The annual Kids' Day and the Fashion Show are not being held this year, but the Maryfest organization intends to bring those two events back next year, said Doty.

The hope is that those two events can return and be fresh and new.

"We're looking at kind of revamping them for next year," said Doty, and Maryfest members are using the time to see how they can be improved, he added.

"Especially with the Fashion Show, we looked at how we've done it over the years, and wanted something new," he said.

The Berry Run at the Tulalip Amphitheater is the first event of the festival on June 10. To enter the event, youth under 18-years-old pay $1 per year (so it would be $12 for someone who is 12 years old) and those 18 and older pay $20. Register online at

The festival's Talent Show is being held on June 15 at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The Funtastic Carnival also begins on June 15 and will be held until June 18 at Marysville Middle School at 4923 67th Ave. NE, Marysville.

The Carnival is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., except on Sunday when it will be open until 5 p.m. Hours are subject to change based on weather.

The festival's Market and Beer Garden are both opening on June 16 and run until June 18 by Asbery Field. The Market is open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Beer Garden is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The Car Show also returns to Asbery Field from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 17.

The Kids Parade and the Grand Parade are held later that day down State Avenue. The Kids Parade judging begins at 5 p.m. and the Kids Parade begins at 6 p.m. The Grand Parade begins at 7:45 p.m.
