The Marysville Fire District is celebrating the swearing in of three new full-time firefighters. On April 19, Mayor Jon Nehring administered the oath of office to firefighters Joe Thacker, Jack Reeves and Solomon Wilson.

All three recruits, who were previously part-time firefighters with Marysville Fire District, will attend the Washington State Patrol Fire Academy and continue their training as probationary firefighters.

Joe Thacker graduated from Sumner High School, earned an associate's degree in Fire Science from Bates Technical College and previously served as a volunteer firefighter with Riverside Fire and Rescue. Jack Reeves is a graduate of Lake Stevens High School, a member of the Marine Corps Reserve and previously served as a firefighter in Lake Stevens. Solomon Wilson earned a degree in Oceanography from the University of Washington before joining the Marysville Fire District.

The Fire District congratulates its newest firefighters on their pledge to serve the citizens of our community.
