Betty Jean (Johnson) Hughes


Betty Jean (Johnson) Hughes was born on March 15, 1929, in Spokane, WA, to Oscar and Laverne Johnson and passed away on April 9, 2017, at her home in Stanwood, WA, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years William Hughes, her three daughters, Christine Hughes Bullock (Tom), Pamela Jean Miller (Ron), and Laurie Lee Hughes, and was preceded in death by her son William Hughes Jr. She has three granddaughters Jennifer, Michelle and Jamie. She has four great-grandchildren Lyndsay, Levi, Trevor and Mackenzie. Betty was an avid crafter. She made many different items for many different bazaars and for Christmas. She was a homemaker for her entire life and devoted to her children. When the children left home and her husband retired in 1991 they traveled the U.S. in their truck and fifth-wheel trailer until 2005. She is very, very much loved by all her family and will be missed by all.
