Christine Hinojosa, former assistant principal at Arlington High School (AHS), has been appointed interim principal following the resignation of former principal Brian Beckley. Beckley took a new job in Everett Public Schools.

Hinojosa was an assistant principal at AHS since 2015. She also served as a dean of students, ASB advisor and teacher at schools in Skagit and Whatcom counties. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees along with her teaching certificate from Western Washington University.

A new interim assistant principal, Linda Masteller, has been appointed to fill Hinojosa's vacancy. Masteller started her educational career as a language arts instructor with the Olympia School District. In her career, she also served as an assistant principal, principal, superintendent intern and dean of students. She earned her Principal's Certification from Pacific Lutheran University and her Superintendent's Certification from the University of Washington.

"I am very pleased to have Christine and Linda in these roles," said Arlington Public Schools Superintendent Chrys Sweeting. "Their wealth of experience will be used to build on the successes at Arlington High School and also help to serve the students, families and staff."
