M'ville Parks offers classes


The Marysville Parks, Culture and Recreation Department is offering a variety of classes in the coming weeks.

Urban Boot Camp™

Join instructor Jennifer Harvey this high-intensity interval training class that incorporates a variety of calisthenic movements, muscular endurance training and basic hip-hop choreography. Improve cardiovascular endurance, build strength and have fun. Modifications are always offered; open to all fitness levels. Urban Boot Camp™ is held 6 -7 p.m. Monday & Wednesdays Sept. 7-28. The cost is $35. Class takes place at the Ken Baxter Community Center, 514 Delta Ave.

Preregistration is required.

Dance and Movement for Youth

Specializing in preschool children ages birth to 5, Ms. Mo offers classes to get the smallest dancers learning about movement and dance. 

Classes include:  Ballet and Tap classes for ages 3-5 with monthly class cost is $40, Tumbling Mommy and Me for ages 1-3 from with a monthly cost of $28, Creative Dance Mommy and Me for ages 1-3 with a monthly cost of $28, New this fall Ms. Mo is offering Mom and Baby Morning Moves for mom and infant ages 6 weeks and older with a monthly cost of $28. 

A variety of class times and days are available. All classes run four weeks beginning the week of Sept. 7 and are held at the Ken Baxter Community Center, 514 Delta Ave. 

Preregistration is required. 

Kung Fu/Tae Kwon Do Pre-School through Adult

These classes with Kung Fu 4 Kids/Kung Fu Northwest and Marysville Parks, Culture and Recreation are fun exciting and empowering at any age. Students will develop discipline, determination, confidence and self-respect while learning martial arts movements.

NINJAgarten is for ages 3-4. Kung Fu/Tae Kwon Do is held separately for ages 5-12, 13-16, and adult 17 and older. Participants attend two classes per week. Many class times are available during. The September session begins Sept. 1 and is held at 804 Cedar Ave. The class cost is $99 with a $25 uniform fee.

Preregistration is required.
