The 9th annual Friendship Walk, Run, and Car Wash is scheduled for Sept. 24.

Walk, run or roll at the 9th annual Friendship Walk, Run, and Car Wash on Sept. 24.

The Friendship Walk/Run starts at Legion Gazebo Park, 114 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington. Registration opens at 11 a.m. The 10K starts at 12:30 p.m., the 5K at 1 p.m., and the 1 mile walk starts at 1:30 p.m. The car wash is down the street and runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cenex Co-op Supply.

The event features live music by Voices of the Village and other fun family entertainments. Awards will be given for most money raised, largest team, and best team costume or presentation. Participants can also get their car washed, volunteer, or just come to the event to enjoy the music and other entertainments.

The Friendship Walk and Car Wash is a fundraiser and suggested donation levels are $25 or more for the walk and entertainment and $10 or more for a car wash. Polish sausage on a bun, pierogies, and coleslaw salad will be available at the Farmers Market. Donate at the Friendship Walk registration booth (cash and credit cards accepted) or online at http://www.friendshipwalk2016.eventbrite.com. Proceeds benefit Voices of the Village and the Village Music and Arts programs for people with disabilities and their family, friends, and community.
