Arlington's Mandy "A'Town A'sassin" Barnett stiff arms a Stanwood defender as she fights for extra yards at Haller Middle School on June 3.

The Stilly Puff Cup pitted the Arlington Eagle "Hawt Mama's" against the Stanwood Spartans Moms in a gritty defensive battle throughout the entire game.

Stanwood scored first in the third quarter, but failed to convert the PAT, putting them up by 6. However, in the start of the fourth Arlington was able to score a touchdown and convert for a two-point PAT. In the end, Arlington was able come away with the win, and the Stilly Puff Cup, with a score of 8-6 on June 3.

"It felt amazing. We have been practicing for months and inevitably it all came down to the PAT so it feels great. We have great coaches that taught us everything. We were well prepared and ready to deal with any situation that we had to deal with," said Captain Mandy "A'Town A'sassin" Barnett.

Arlington's Niki "Nurse Niki" Roskelley finds open space in the Stanwood defense and rushes for a big gain at Haller Middle School on June 3.

At the beginning of the game it looked like the final result might be a tie, as the first half ended with a score of 0-0. Both teams came out aggressive in the second half and Stanwood managed to score, but Arlington answered right back with a score of their own. Asia "Messmer-izer" Messmer scored that critical touchdown, plowing through defenders on the goal line. The final nail was put in the coffin by Barnett, kicking the two-point PAT.

This powder puff game is much more than a competition, it also helps benefit the community around them by raising money for scholarships. These scholarships help pay the fees associated with athletics and allow the kids to go compete when they otherwise wouldn't.

"It feels really good doing something for little kids. This whole thing is for scholarships for kids and nothing pushes me more than getting out there and knowing that all these little kids will benefit. I feel like I need to come out here and represent so that's what gets me going," said Captain Niki "Nurse Niki" Roskelley.

"My favorite part is the bond you make with all of the other women. It's a bond and friendship that lasts forever. Once you're a puff you're always a puff," said Captain Jodie "Ziggy Mama" Ziglar.
