Rants & Raves 6/17/15

RANT: Is it just me or do all contractors not show up or even call when they said they would be at your house. What do they teach at Contracting school? How to make your customers unhappy ... let me give the rest of you contractors out there a hint ... here’s how to stand out from over 95% of your competition ... be there when you said you would and do a good job.

RANT: It is extremely ridiculous that people do not seem to have respect for other individuals. After waiting in line with a verbally aggressive mother, I had to physically remove myself and my younger sibling to prevent him from hearing vulgar language. Parents, and really anyone, please be respectful of other people’s ears. Just because you feel that it is acceptable to run your mouth and use inappropriate language doesn’t mean I want to hear it.

RAVE: Huge shout-out to the Class of 2015 for all of their hard work this year. We all wish you the absolute best and have high hopes for all that your generation has to offer the future. Keep up the good work and good luck for all future endeavours.

RANT: At graduations, school officials should give up on the whole “hold your applause until everyone’s received their diploma” request. I have never seen this work. It would probably be more effective to ask for only quick applause or for nobody to use air horns, as those are the only times the celebrating gets actually obnoxious.

RAVE: Thanks to the state of Washington and the state public universities for having one of the better grant systems for students in need of college funding. I graduated four years ago and my brother graduated days ago and neither of us would have been able to without that support.

RAVE: Thanks to all of those who organized, volunteered at and participated in the Strawberry Festival’s Kids Day this past weekend. It was a great time and my kids really enjoyed it.

RAVE: This sunny weather has been great. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the summer.
