Sno. Co. YMCA honors outstanding volunteers

The YMCA of Snohomish County honored its outstanding policy, program, youth, and financial development volunteers at a special recognition breakfast June 10 at the Everett Golf & Country Club.

This community event honors the wonderful contribution of volunteers who support the YMCA of Snohomish County. More than 100 members of the community, board members, friends of the Y, and staff were on hand to celebrate the volunteer accomplishments achieved during 2014-2015.

In recognition of outstanding service, many individuals were recognized as the 2014-2015 YMCA of Snohomish County Volunteers of the Year, including those for the Marysville/North County Family YMCA:

Program Volunteer: Doug Hogue, Community.

Policy Volunteer: Loren Van Loo, Edward Jones Investment .

Youth Volunteer: Jackie Carretero, Student, Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Youth Volunteer: Dianna Orbeladze, Student Marysville Getchell High School.

Financial Development Volunteer: Quinton Morris, Community.

“Behind each individual we are honoring here today there is an army of volunteers,” said Scott Forslund, Trustee Board Chair, YMCA of Snohomish County. “They give their time, resources, and talents — every day in thousands of ways — because they know they can improve the lives of others while enhancing their own lives through the Y.”

“As a cause-driven, nonprofit organization, the Y is able to strengthen community because of the dedicated youth, families, and individuals who share our passion,” said Scott Washburn, YMCA of Snohomish County President/CEO. “One of the ways we support social responsibility is through the volunteerism that leads the Y’s critical work.”
