Samuel Trotto

Samuel Trotto passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in Marysville, WA at the age of 93.

Sam was born March 8, 1921 in Bellingham, Washington to Peter and Anna Trotto.

He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1939 and enlisted in the US Navy right after graduation, serving as a machinist mate until 1945.

Sam married Dorothy Darby in 1947 and moved his young family to Portland in 1951.

After retirement, he returned to Washington State, where he was active in his church and enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.

Throughout his life he always seemed to be the youngest person in the room.

Sam is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sister, Marian Davis; three daughters, Joanne Wheeler, Carol Hart, and Karin Wesner; four grandchildren, Jenni (Wheeler) Enzor, Molly Wheeler, Dan Harris, and Marc Hart; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His loved ones will miss his ready smile, sense of humor, and love of life.

They didn't fail to notice that he waited until the day after his favorite holiday (April Fools Day) to keep his tee time in heaven.

A memorial service was held on April 7 in Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
