Free tax help at Legion post

Marysville area residents can take advantage of free tax filing help for military personnel and taxpayers with low or moderate income through the AARP Tax-Aide program. Participants do not need to be a seniors or members of AARP to use the service.
This year the AARP Tax-Aide site in Marysville is sponsored by American Legion Post 178, 119 Cedar Avenue. Appointments are available Feb. 1 through April 15, Mondays and Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tax assistance is offered by appointment and on a first-come, first-served drop-in basis. Call 425-220-4940 to reserve your meeting time in advance.
Taxpayers should bring photo identification, a Social Security card or tax identification number for each person on a return; W2 or other income statements; 1099 forms; name, address and tax ID number for a child care provider; student loan and tuition payment records; mortgage interest and property tax statements; a bank account number for direct deposit of refund; and last year's return if available. If filing jointly, both spouses must be present to file electronically.
