Summer Cull Truman Walker Two Marysville-Pilchuck seniors who excel at academics and athletics were chosen as the June Students of the Month by the Marysville Soroptimist and Kiwanis clubs.

Summer Cull (far right) maintained a 3.92 GPA at Marysville-Pilchuck and a concurrent 4.0 GPA at Everett Community College as a Running Start student, all while taking AP classes in several subjects. She is a member of the National Honor Society.

Summer has been an exemplary school leader, serving as a class officer most years, and volunteering for campus clubs and in the community. She also played basketball and was on the Track and Field team, where she was recognized by her teammates as someone who represents dedication, encouragement and leadership on the track.

Truman Walker has been accepted into the engineering program at the University of Missouri at Columbia. During his high school career he participated in the Washington Aerospace Scholars program, and tackled AP classes in chemistry, literature, calculus, comparative politics, history and language and composition.

Despite being born with spina bifida, which necessitates the use of a wheelchair most of the time, Truman participated in track and field for all four years of high school, earning seven gold medals. Truman excelled in shotput, discus, javelin and the boys' 100-meter wheelchair race.

Truman has also been involved with 4-H club, focusing on poultry, and volunteers at the Imagine Children's Museum in Everett.
