Families of prospective and returning students in all grade levels are invited to attend the Marysville School District's annual Information Fair and Kindergarten Registration Kickoff event, set for Saturday, Jan. 28, at Arts & Technology High School, 7204-27th Ave. NE, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Superintendent Dr. Larry Nyland will be on hand, along with district and school staff members and community partnership groups, to answer questions and provide information on various programs and resources that are both supportive and useful.

Families may also take this opportunity to register children for kindergarten for the 2012_13 school year and to meet staff from their child's school. Registration forms will be available at the event; parents can also download the forms ahead of time from the district's website. Translators will be provided to assist parents in completing the registration information if needed.

In addition to kindergarten registration, the district is hosting "Get Acquainted" features at this year's event.

A district school bus will be on site for kids to explore along with a chance to meet the transportation mascot, Rudy the Raccoon. Parents of fourth and fifth grade students will be given their annual opportunity to review the Growth and Development and HIV (5th grade only) curriculum. Videos will be shown on the hour beginning at 9 and 10 a.m., followed by a question and answer time. Parents may also take advantage of an informational session on how to use the district's Family Access system.

A tour of the award_winning Marysville Getchell campus is a new feature at the Information Fair. Families may choose to "Get Acquainted" with the MG Campus on student_led tours, beginning at 10:15 a.m., which will last approximately an hour. A bus will depart from Arts & Technology High School at 10 a.m. or families may choose to drive to the campus.
