Earlier this school year, directors on the Lakewood School Board authorized placing two measures on the Feb. 14 ballot: a replacement programs and operations levy and a capital projects and technology levy.

However, those measures will instead be going to voters in April.

"We've been communicating recently with the county auditor's office and have learned that their records do not reflect receipt of our resolutions, which is required by a certain date in order for measures to be placed on the ballot," explained Superintendent Dennis Haddock. "As a result, the district will now begin planning to bring these two propositions forward for the April 17 ballot."

Both funding requests are replacements for expiring levies, not new taxes. Levy revenues account for more than 25 percent of most districts' day-to-day funding.
