Cadet earns student of month honors

Sarah Hagberg Sarah Hagberg is a study in discipline and teamwork.

Sarah, a sophomore at Marysville-Pilchuck High School and Cadet Petty Officer Third Class in the NJROTC, was selected as December's Career and Technical Student of the Month.

Sarah is a member of the NJROTC Unarmed Drill Team, Color Guard, Physical Strength Team and the M-P girls' swim team.

"She helped lead the Tomahawks to a very successful year," wrote Master Chief Ed Dawson in nominating her for the honor. "She has earned the respect and loyalty of all who work with her."

Sarah is a leader in NJROTC, serving as Assistant Basic Leadership Training Action Officer.

"As period 2 class leader, she used her personal example and maturity in setting the standard for her fellow cadets to follow," said Dawson. "Her outgoing and friendly personality is infectious and contributes significantly to Cadet esprit de corps."

Sarah has aspirations to be a doctor with a concentration in general surgery.
