With the resignations of board members Michael Kundu and Sherri Crenshaw, the Marysville School District must replace those two positions on the school board. The district hopes to engage the community in the process to make sure prospective members are identified, made aware of the opportunity and responsibilities, and recruited as applicants.

The Northwest Educational Service District (NWESD) is working with a district steering committee to aid in the recruitment process.

The school board is tasked with interviewing and appointing school board members to serve until the next regular election in November 2011, at which time a successor will be elected for the unexpired term.

The vacant positions serve districts 4 and 5, in the south and east portions of the school district, and applicants must reside in the district they will represent. A map of the district boundaries is available at www.msvl.k12.wa.us or from the Snohomish County Elections Office.

Those interested in serving should request an application by calling Jodi Runyon at (360) 653-0800 or e-mailing jodi_runyon@msvl.k12.wa.us.

Community input into the selection process is welcome via an online survey at www.nwesd.org/MSDPatronInput.
