McKellarArlington's Post Middle School will have a new principal when students return to classes next month.

Following a rigorous interview process, including meetings with students, parents, staff and administrators, David McKellar was offered and accepted the position of Post Middle School principal. Final approval was expected at the August 9 school board meeting.

McKellar resides in Arlington, where he began his career 11 years ago as a middle school teacher at Post. After obtaining his administrative credentials, he served as assistant principal for Marysville Middle School for four years. Most recently, he spent three years as the principal for Quil Ceda Elementary.

He is excited about returning to Arlington Public Schools and working with the district's middle school students.

"I enjoy students and being a principal immensely," said McKellar.

When not working, McKellar enjoys spending time with his high school-aged daughter, riding his bike throughout Snohomish County and spending time outdoors on land and water.
