Pinewood Elementary School students and their families are invited to "Hang out and Read" with librarian Shelley Doty this summer.

The library at the school, located at 5115-84th Ave. NE in Marysville, will be open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon now through August 25. Students can check out their favorite books and earn prizes for meeting summer reading goals.

Local author Trudi Trueit will be on hand Wednesday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. Trueit, author of the Julep O'Toole and "Secrets of a Lab Rat" series, as well as many non-fiction books, will read to students, answer questions, and just hang out and talk about favorite books.
