The Arlington High School On Hold Jazz Band, directed by John Grabowski, will present "Jazz on the Green," a free community jazz event, on Friday, June 11, at Gleneagle Family Bar and Grill, 7619 E. Country Club Drive in Arlington.

On Hold will play popular favorites from Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Glenn Miller, and more.

The full menu at Gleneagle Family Bar and Grill will be available for purchase, with additional items hot off the BBQ while jazz fans enjoy the music. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and go until about 9 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to relax on the grass, but if the weather doesn't cooperate, the restaurant will provide a large event tent to stay dry.

Band parent Marlene Lewis encourages community attendance. "These On Hold jazz students, as well as Mr. Grabowski, are addictive to watch, because they all have so much fun performing and they are amazing! Feet will be tapping, people will be dancing, and faces will be smiling."

Lewis commended Grabowski for his outstanding work with young musicians. "Having the opportunity for a free evening of family-oriented entertainment like this is just one reason to love living in Arlington," she continued.
