Student musicians in the Marysville-Pilchuck High School band have been offered some exciting opportunities during a springtime visit to California, and their parents and community supporters want to make sure they don't miss out.

The Marysville Band Boosters are hosting an auction and prime rib dinner gala, complete with a performance by the M-P jazz band, at Totem Middle School on Saturday, February 6, beginning at 6 p.m. Advance tickets to the event are $25 for adults and $15 for children.

Items donated for the auction include a 2002 Crown Victoria, condo lodging in Kauai, Hawaii, an overnight stay at the Tulalip Resort, hand-painted native art objects, a sport fishing trip and a Brewsler walnut piano.

"The band has the opportunity to attend a clinic hosted by the U.S. Marine Corps Band at Camp Pendleton," explained auction chair Roxanne Standiford, "and they will have three performances at Disneyland."

The band members will also get to experience a professional recording session with Disneyland musicians.

To make reservations for the dinner auction, contact Standiford at (360) 653-4048, or pick up a ticket order form at Cascade Music in downtown Marysville.
