Scholarship offered for prospective teachers

University students who plan to become teachers are encouraged to apply for a $1,000 scholarship offered by Sno-Isle Unit 22 of the Washington State School Retirees Association. Applicants must be juniors or seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who are majoring in education at a 4-year university. Residents of Snohomish and Island counties are eligible for consideration.

Selection will be based on transcripts, leadership and community service activities, and completed essays.

The deadline for applications is June 15, 2009, with funds available for the 2009-2010 academic year. For information and an application, contact WSSRA at (425) 347-2719.
