The February students of the month, selected by the Marysville Soroptimists and Kiwanis, were introduced at the March 2 Marysville School Board meeting.

Jenna Welsh recently moved to the area from Oregon, but she has already distinguished herself with her academic and community involvements in Marysville. A senior in the Bio-Med Academy at M-PHS, Jenna is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, the ASB and Student Council, NJROTC, the Biotechnology Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Random Acts of Kindness Everyday (RAKE). She has maintained a Dean's List status from 2005-2009.

She is an accomplished javelin thrower, and has participated in varsity track and field events for four years. She also plays varsity volleyball and earned the U.S. Army Reserves National Scholar/Athlete Award.

Jenna is interested in journalism as well, and was named Outstanding Editor for the school newspaper The Marshfield Times in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Also a senior at M-PHS, Trevor LeValley is as much at home in the water as he is in the classroom. Trevor maintains a 3.92 GPA while tackling a multitude of Advanced Placement classes, including AP Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Literature and U.S. History. He is a three-time Scholastic All-American, and earned the Wesco Academic Achievement Certification in 2007.

He has been on the Marysville swim and dive teams for four years, lettering each year and advancing to state championships four times. He was named Most Inspirational Athlete in 2007 and 2008, and currently holds three M-PHS school swim records.

Trevor is also active in his community, participating in Operation Marysville Community Christmas and helping with wetland tree planting efforts.

Congratulations to both these fine young adults on their remarkable achievements.
