WSU's Snohomish County Extension Office will host a climate-change course Saturday, February 7 for local educators. The five-hour workshop, presented at the Everett Transit Center, room 212, is designed for teachers in grades 6 through 10 who want to include science, social studies, math and governance lessons about climate change into their classrooms.

The workshop will teach ways to engage students in understanding climate change from multiple perspectives and to empower them to create their own solutions. This session provides hands-on, interactive lessons in which teachers will take part, learning the science skills and content knowledge necessary to teach about climate change and its interconnections to the environment, society and the economy.

All workshop participants will receive materials that include middle- and high-school units on climate change. The cost, which includes lunch, is $45 per person. Clock hours, provided by the OSPI Continuing Education Clock Hour Credits, are available at no extra cost for those attending the workshop.
