Resident sought for planning commission

Mayor Jon Nehring is seeking individuals interested in filling a vacancy on the City of Marysville planning commission.

The successful nominee to the planning commission would serve a six-year term. Applicants must reside within Marysville city limits. The appointment is made by the mayor and confirmed by the Council.

The seven-member planning commission is an advisory board to the mayor and City Council on issues such as land use, critical areas and shoreline management planning, and long-range planning issues. The commission's primary responsibilities are to prepare the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Shoreline Management Master Plan.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in Marysville City Hall, located at 1049 State Ave.

To apply, individuals are asked to send a brief letter of interest and resume to the City Clerk's Office at Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave., Marysville, WA 98270. Deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3. For more information, call (360) 363-8000.
