For the second time this month, the Marysville Police Department is holding a public meeting to notify area residents about a potentially dangerous sex offender who has taken up residence in the city.

On Wednesday, April 25, at 7 p.m., police will inform the public about Glen Edward Thomas, a registered sex offender who will be residing in the 15400 block of 51st Avenue NE in Marysville.

Thomas was convicted of the crime of rape in the first degree on Sept. 26, 1980. His victim's age was 3 years old. Thomas was released from prison and registered as a Level III sex offender on March 20 of this year.

On April 11, information was shared about Robert M. Boersma, another Level III registered sex offender who has moved to the 4900 block of 61st Street NE.

According to official documents, Boersma pled guilty to one count of child molestation in the second degree and one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes. The victim in his crimes was between the ages of 12 and 13.

Boersma was given a sentence of 20 months by Snohomish County Superior Court and is on active supervision for a period of 36 months with the Marysville office of the Department of Corrections.

Level III sex offenders are those offenders whose risk assessments indicate a potential risk of re-offense within the community at large.
