The City of Marysville has expanded its menu of online payment services to now offer online residential building permitting.
The Community Development Department went live recently with eTRAKiT software developed by CRW Systems, Inc. based in Carlsbad, Calif. The new system will enable the city to streamline permit tracking while giving the public a secure, user-friendly interface to pay for some permits online, as well as offering access to other helpful project features.
"We have received many requests to offer online permits through our contractors, and are pleased to be able to provide this service now," said Gloria Hirashima, Chief Administrative Officer and Community Development Director. "We recognize that our customers want web-based services, as it represents time and money savings for all of us."
Contractors and citizens will be able to apply for some permits online, review projects, schedule inspections, and conduct property searches.
Types of permits include single or multiple electrical, low voltage electrical, mechanical, plumbing and re-roofing. Instructions are available online, but visitors can also call the Community Development Department at (360) 363-8223 or email MSVLPermits@marysvillewa.gov for help. Inspection requests can be submitted in the online permit center, or call (360) 363-8204 to request an inspection.
Community Development last year issued 1,877 building permits, 236 single-family residential permits and 2,720 electrical permits, and performed 10,456 inspections.
Residents are already able to register and pay their city utility bills online (water, sewer, garbage, etc.), and manage fees for Parks and Recreation classes and facilities rentals through ePlay.
