The death of Arlington councilmember Scott Solla last month has created a vacancy on the City Council for the Position 3 seat. Arlington residents are invited to apply to complete Solla's term, which expires January 2014.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, with City Council reviews scheduled to begin Nov. 14. Interviews of all candidates will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 16, and the council expects to make a selection no later than Monday, November 28.

By state law, the Snohomish County Council will make a decision to fill the position if the City Council does not reach an agreement by December 1.
