Tourism project funding available

The City of Marysville is accepting applications through March 24 for the city's 2010 Hotel/Motel Tax Grant Program.

The program is open to applicants from qualified private non-profit entities for projects that promote tourism within the city. Eligible agencies may include historical societies, art groups, chambers of commerce, museums and galleries, youth activity organizations, service clubs, and other groups. The proposed projects must comply with state statutes governing the use of Hotel/Motel Tax funds.

For a copy of the City of Marysville Hotel/Motel Tax Policy, which contains information regarding project availability, application procedures and application forms, visit the city website at http://marysvillewa.gov, then click on the City Information & Records tab. Applicants may also contact the City Clerk's Office at 1049 State Ave., or call (360) 363-8000.

Deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 24. Applications received after this time and date may not be eligible for funding.
