In its continued effort to improve public safety and reduce risks in the community, Marysville Fire District swore in four full-time firefighters and introduced seven part-time firefighters at the December 16 Marysville Fire District Board of Directors meeting.
The staff hirings were planned to fill existing vacancies.
Chad Bonner, Christopher Mullen, Jacob Kuehn and Jenson Evans, who were all previously part-time firefighters with the district, are now full-time employees.
Kris Stewart, Justin Schoenborn, David Neyens, Tobin McGowan, Anthony Savage, Tyler Bottin and Justin Kestle are the newest part-timers.
Kuehn and Evans were recently honored for successful completion of the 12-week North Bend Firefighter Academy program. Both earned recognition for outstanding achievement during the program. Evans' awards included a Chief's Truck Company Award and Bulldog Award, while Kuehn was awarded the Chief's Engine Company Award and an Inspirational Award.
Once back from the academy, the recruits participated in a countywide training and have now joined fellow firefighters Bonner and Mullen, who previously completed the recruit academy, on shift.
